Good Work & Employment: Successes & Challenges of Partnership Working
Report of the Executive Director, Adults & Health.
· Good work and employment is identified as key priority in the Camden Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2022-30. Progress has been made on this priority across the last 12 months, however in most cases this has been through individual projects and collaborations, rather than as a partnership.
· The recent Health Needs Assessment (HNA) undertaken by the Health and Wellbeing Department presents an important first step in applying a population health approach. The results of the assessment serve as a reminder of the needs of Camden residents and the impact of unemployment, also illustrating the challenges faced by those working to support them.
· The NCL People Strategy provides an example of holistic, system-wide thinking that could inform our sense of what can be achieved when the partnership comes together as a system.
· We now need to regroup and think about ways to build momentum and improve how the Camden Borough Partnership comes together as a system to deliver on our commitments on this priority. When doing so, it will be important to draw and from Good Work Camden, the council led programme to support high quality, inclusive jobs in Camden.

· a system-level update on how the NCL (North Central London) population health improvement strategy and delivery planning has progressed following the previous discussion with Camden’s Health and Wellbeing Board (May 2023); and
· considerations for how we will localise and deliver this work, including how we will discuss and develop consensus for the approach within the Camden borough partnership.

Camden Annual Public Health Report 2023: Context, Summary and Launch Plan
Report of the Director of Public Health.
Directors of Public Health in England have a statutory duty to write an Annual Public Health Report (APHR) to consider the state of health within their communities. Camden’s 2023 APHR focuses on adolescent health and wellbeing.
Appendix A contains the full APHR 2023, whilst appendix B contains a summary slide deck prepared for the Health and Wellbeing Board to help present on the context, summary of content and describe the launch plan for the APHR 2023 report.

Health and Care System Transformation: Core Community Mental Health Teams
Report of the Camden Division Managing Director, Camden and Islington Mental Health Foundation Trust.
This report provides an overview of the progress in embedding Core Teams in Camden since July 2021. Core Teams operate as multi-disciplinary teams consisting of staff from the NHS, adult social care and voluntary sector. They aim to provide preventative, accessible, holistic support within local primary care network and neighbourhoods for people with mental health needs.
The teams have focused on building relationships with partners and local communities and establishing processes to meet a diverse range of needs. We have introduced a new care planning tool, DIALOG+ as a framework for our individual work, and have established internal group support as well as ongoing workshops and drop in spaces in partnership with community providers.
Our early data indicates that we are providing timely support to a large number of local residents and reducing the need for referrals to secondary care services.
We are building a learning framework to ensure we adapt the work of Core Teams in response to feedback, data and our own observations on emerging needs. This approach has also provided us with valuable experience and learning to take into the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams which we are developing with partners. Some of these insights are shared in this report.

Work Programme of the Camden Health and Wellbeing Board

The Camden Health and Wellbeing Board’s work programme is developed by Board members and partners, with oversight from the Chair of the Board and support from Camden strategy officers. The future programme is intended to be a working document and will be reviewed and agreed by the Board at every meeting. The Board is asked to note the draft programme and suggest items for inclusion at future meetings.
